Here are some more photos from yesterday’s eclipse.
This one I used every ND filter that I had at my disposal. I like that I was able to get the sun spots(?). I’m not sure, if that is what they are, but they were also in NASA’s image.
Here is a shot I took last week of Pompeys Pillar National Monument as the tail end of a rain storm was blowing past.
Atlanta based R&B vocal group Kazual casual stopped by my studio yesterday. They are in town performing at MontanaFair, and stopped by to preview their performances. They are a very talented group of singers who put on a great show for the whole family. If you are in Billings, check them out.
The Great American Hill Climb is one of my favorite events to shoot in Billings. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a lot of time to spend out there, so I thought I would do a quick feature on the guys responsible for catching the bikes. I almost got run over by a bike getting these. I thimk it was worth it.
The Gazette’s Enjoy section and the Billings Symphony teamed up to put on a Country Idol contest. The contestants performed with the symphony on Sunday, and now people can vote on the videos to see who will get to perform an entire show with the Symphony next season. I shot the portraits and videos. If you’d like to vote you can do so HERE.
Earlier this week I was lucky enough to get assigned to shoot the re-dedication of the Indian Memorial at the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument. They installed the etched granite panels at the monument and it looks fantastic. There was a giant celebration to commemorate the event that also coincided with the 138th anniversary of the battle. You can read Sue Olp’s story about the ceremony here:Ceremony marks completion of Indian Memorial on anniversary of Little Bighorn Battle.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to Bozeman to shoot a video and photos of Electro Thunder Funk band Cure for the Common. These guys are very talented and extremely tight. I used two takes of the song in order to produce the video and I could nearly lay down the video track with the unused audio over the used audio track and they nearly matched perfectly which speaks volumes to the talent of their rhythm section. They’ll be touring the Northwest this summer so definitly check them out if they are in your area. They put on a great show: http://curetheband.com/.
