1st solid meal in a week
For three weeks I had been planning on shooting star trails tonight since it is a new moon. As luck would have it we had a storm pass through, and there were not very many stars to be seen. Oh well, may be I can get to it tomorrow night, if not then, next month.
Instead, I shot my dinner. It may not look all that impressive, but considering that my wife and I been and a fruit and vegetable juice fast all week, and this was our first solid food, I thought it was mana from heaven. We dined on a stuffed bell peppers(vegetarian), quinoa, and salad with a balsamic vinaigrette that my wife made.
Photographically, I would say the shot turned out OK considering it was shot under fluorescent lights.
Canon 85mm @ f1.8
A bad pun and a cliche in the same post, I should be ashamed, but since I seem to be the only one reading these posts, I don’t think I’m going to be worrying too much about offending people. Anyway, my wife, daughter and I live in an old 1913 farmhouse. The house has much of the old brass doorknobs and skeleton keyholes. I know it’s a tad cliche, but I thought it would be fun to take a picture of my wife’s eye looking through one of the keyhole to test the sharpness and shallow depth of field of my new canon 85 mm 1.8. Since it is not a macro lens I had to crop the shot to get the image that I wanted. Overall, I am pleased with the results from lens.
This was shot at f4
I shot these at Zimmerman Park in Billings. I wasn’t able to get a shot of the view from the Rims because I ran room on my memory card. I probably shouldn’t have shot the shoes. Despite the signs, I did not see any rattlesnakes, or have my vehicle broken into.
Today, I ventured into some unexplored areas south of Ballantine, I was hoping to see some wildlife or may be even some farm animals, but all I saw were fields and dirt roads. Anyway, I did manage to find a couple of things to shoot, and I decided to really play with them in Adobe Raw.
Really! You woke me up just because you got a new lens. Asshole!
Today, The UPS guy brought me my Canon 85mm 1.8. Unfortunately, he brought it right before I had to leave for work. All I was able to manage for a test was snapshot of my daughter. The picture was right after I woke her up to head out the door. I had to leave early for work so both her and my routines were thrown a little out of whack, hence the annoyed look on her face. I also shot this gnarly looking pine cone.
1st attempt at HDR with photoshop
I shot this sunrise a month ago and bracketed it, so I thought I would use this to experiment with Photoshop’s new HDR editing software. This was a composite of three different exposures. The original edited , single exposure shot is below.
