These are some shots that I took today of the country side near where I live in Ballantine, Montana. More storm systems keep flying through the area.
Today, my daughter and I went exploring. We just got in the car and kept driving down back country roads until we ended up in Hardin, Montana. There I saw a sign for the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area so I we made our way there. We got there late, and it was really overcast when we were there, but I still managed to get some decent shots. The one of the scrap pile that was at one point a grain bin, I found in the middle of a field off Highway 87e. I thought it looked like an abstract sculpture.
I covered state championship high school track and field meet today, and I brought my dslr with me. I wasn’t able to edit the pictures in time for the paper because a car drove off a cliff, so I am posting my favorite shot of the day here.
In the photo it looks like there is no way she is going to clear the bar, but she did, and went on to finish second.
I caught a reflection of myself, in one of the shots that I was taking today. There wasn’t much editing involved other than tweaks to contrast, clarity, highlights and color temperature.
These are some shots from my backyard of my wheelbarrow that filled with rain water over the weekend. The wheelbarrow is a rusty old thing that came with the property when I bought it. It still does its job so I keep it around. The colors reminded me of the eye of Jupiter. For these I included some close ups of some of the more interesting details of the images.
Today, my daughter and I went on a short road trip to the Red Lodge area, and picnicked at Wild Bill Lake. I didn’t take many pictures while we were there because it was intermittently raining and my daughter would get upset when I would take out the camera. We had fun, and Zoë played in the snow when adventured into the higher elevations.
