I am heading to Yellowstone National Park in the next couple of days so I bought a Canon 400mm 5.6 lens to shoot the wildlife. I thought I would give it a test run on my two favorite osprey’s who have a nest on the Yellowstone River near Pompey’s Pillar. As far as performance goes, this lens exceeded my expectations. The auto focus was really quick, and the images it produced were very sharp. I got a ton of great shots of the two birds, but this one was my favorite.
I also went to a cub scout day camp to do a story about it. Before the directors would let me enter, they required me to put on a hat. Every kid at the camp was required to wear a hat, and they didn’t want the kids to ask, “well how come he doesn’t have to wear one?” So I put on one of the hats that they provide. Unfortunately, they only had kid sizes,so I received a hat way too small for my giant melon. Our photographer photographer, Casey Paige, was kind enough to take this photo of me. Her hat had a sheriff star on it. Mine had fallen off, so I guess I was just a lowly deputy.
