It has been unusually warm and sunny here the past few months, so I wondered whether or not if some the smaller bodies of water were still covered with ice. I went to Stony Grit fishing access and found out that the ice was still about three inches thick. I wasn’t going to go out on the ice until I saw the guy in the picture below cross the ice at one of the widest parts of the river. After I saw him successfully navigate the ice, I braved the ice at a spot that was mostly covered in shadows all day.
I added an additional photo to this post after the fact. This one, I had to do a little extra editing, but I liked it, so I thought I would add it.
